這是她當時的感受：
＂My heart felt for the young woman whose wailing I heard from far away. I thought it was a young child's until I got close and saw the policemen and emergency medical workers. I talked to one of the policemen and was told of what had happened and that the deceased was only 53 years old. She couldn't possibly know the morning when she woke up that this day would be her last. All I could think of when I was passing her half covered body was how unpredictable life can be, how awful the person who caused this death must felt. At the top of the steep climb and looking down, I thought of the importance to live in the moment, be kind to each other and be mindful in our every action. Here are some of the photos I took that day without knowing what was happening further ahead.＂

有这样一事！我还真不知道！近排无关注新闻！
圖片可見，這一段長城非常陡斜，但是卻沒有扶手。據當地人說，以前這裡也發生過傷亡事故。以下是王璐補充的資料：
"No handrail along the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall. I asked a local why, was told that the government didn't allow it. Probably didn't want to ruin the UN heritage site qualification. However, they have cell towers on top of some of the watchtowers! And this woman is not the first casualty since it opened to tourists."

據新浪網報導，昨天上午，黑龍江籍遊客崔女士的遺體，在懷柔區殯儀館火化，待賠償事宜完成後，家屬將把老人的骨灰帶回老家安葬。4月8日上午，慕田峪長城景區內，一名加拿大籍女子在下行過程中，撞倒73歲的崔女士，致其頭部受傷，後經搶救無效離世。幾經周折，雙方終於在當地法院的調解下，達成60萬元左右的賠償協定。目前，家屬正在等待對方履行協議。
